Aspire’s friendly, women-only centre offers a variety of courses to help you learn and develop new skills, whatever your goals.

Our award-winning team will help you decide which courses are right for you and signpost you to any of our support and wellbeing services that may also benefit you.

Aspire Courses

  • Varying Courses in Partnership with New College Durham

    Aspire deliver courses in partnership with New College Durham which change frequently. Keep an eye on our social media for updates of new courses.

  • Aspire to Change

    Focused group to take little steps to make big changes in your life with the support of your peers.

    Mondays 9.30-11.30am

  • Scented Treats

    Create self-care moments to help you ease through your day. Together you will explore the benefits of aromatherapy oils and make soap, room sprays, bath sachets and more!

    Mondays 12.30-2.30pm

  • Simply Sewing

    Refresh or learn new simple sewing skills to be able to confidently sew a button back on or fix a hem, whilst having fun!

    Tuesdays 9.30-11.30am

  • Seated Gentle Exercise

    Gentle exercise group to improve mobility, build strength, and boost wellbeing at your own pace!

    Tuesdays 12.30-2.30pm

  • Healthy Habits

    A 10 week cooking course, tasting new recipes whilst learning about budgeting, eating well and building better wellbeing

    Thursdays 9.30-11.30am

How do I access a course?

Learning opportunities come up frequently. To access these opportunities contact Aspire by email or phone.

Aspire will then contact you to take the next easy steps to complete your registration.

What courses are available?

Aspire courses (including days, times and descriptions) will appear on our social media. You can ask for course information by emailing our learning team at enquiries@aspire-northeast.co.uk or telephoning 0191 389 1504.

How many courses can I do?

There is no limit on how many courses you can do, although we do ask you think about what you will enjoy and what will benefit you most as well as the needs of other women. If you are uncertain which courses are best for you, contact our learning team.

How long do courses last?

Aspire courses last 8 to 10 weeks. Important dates will be published to our social media in advance of the course beginning.
