What have we been up to in July?

We have had a fun-filled and exciting month of July - take a look at what we have been getting up to!

We had a new cohort of women complete their Level 1 Introduction to Supportive Volunteering Training this month! We would like to say a massive WELL DONE to those wonderful women and we are so excited for them to begin to get involved supporting the work of Aspire!

We had an amazing time at the Veterans Event at Consett AFC! To stay on theme, Aspire’s stall was Make Your Own War Medal (by decorating biscuits with sweets on top!)

It was a brilliant event and an opportunity to hand out leaflets, spread awareness and talk to the local community about the work that Aspire does for women in our local area!

Our wonderful friends at St Margaret’s Centre made Aspire these amazing wooden parking signs! We are so grateful for our partnership with St Margaret’s Centre and we would like to thank their volunteers for kindly making us these signs!

We were very grateful to Christine from Mental Strength & Wellbeing for the kind donation of £100! Generous donations like these help us to continue supporting women in our local area!

A huge well done to Karen and Evelyn for completing the Great North 10k on behalf of Aspire! We are so grateful that they chose to do this on behalf of Aspire and we are thankful for every donation received!

We had a lovely afternoon at our Aspire Summer Celebration at Chester-le-Street Cricket Club! It was lovely to spend time together and celebrate all of our amazing Aspire women, volunteers and staff! We enjoyed a delicious buffet, a raffle and tombola, and danced a lot!!!

Thank you to everyone who came along!

We had a lovely day out on our Aspire bus trip to Seahouses! It was a wonderful day spending time together, enjoying the sunshine, and eating lots of ice cream! We are so grateful to have such a supportive and friendly Aspire community which makes days out like these even more enjoyable!

Over the summer (Monday 20th July - Friday 4th September) we are running a reduced summer programme.

Every Monday 12.30-2.30pm - Our Spectrum group will take place which is a peer-led support group for neurodiverse Aspire women (diagnosis not necessary)

Every Wednesday 12.30-2.30pm - Our Crafts and Cuppa Drop In runs every week which is a space to come along, have a chat, and Cuppa whilst making some relaxing crafts! (Please note this is not on Wednesday 26th August)

Every Friday 9.30-11.30am - Our Breakfast Club will continue every week over the summer which is a space to come along for a warm, healthy breakfast and a chat or simply pop along for a cuppa - we would love to see you there! (Please note this is not on Friday 28th August)
