Take a look at what we got up to in October!
We had a lovely morning at our World Mental Health Day Breakfast Club!
We shared tips about how to talk about your own mental health and how to talk to others about their mental health, we chatted to each other and of course had delicious breakfast!
Breakfast Club takes place every Friday morning 9.30-11.30 and all Aspire women are welcome - we would love to see you there!
Our gardening group visited Harperley Garden Centre to celebrate their Northumbria in Bloom win (with cake and coffee of course!)
We were pleased to attend the Chester le Street Church of England Primary School’s parents evening to share information about Aspire and raise awareness of the support we offer to women in our local community!
It was a privilege to be invited to speak at the County Durham Pound Conference 2026!
The key theme of the conference was Stronger Together: Connected for Impact, which was about celebrating the power of partnership and the role that different sectors play in creating stronger, more sustainable communities.
One of our co-directors, Val, shared insights into the vital role VCSE organisations play across County Durham, as well as the benefits that can be achieved when organisations work together towards shared goals. She also shared about the power of volunteering to VCSE organisations. As a part of this, three of our amazing volunteers, Jen, Deb and Carolyn, all shared their personal journeys, the impact Aspire has had on their lives, and how volunteering at Aspire has benefited them!

We had a lovely time at our Breast Cancer Awareness Themed Monday Meet Up! We were pleased to be joined by Andrea from NHS County Durham Breast Cancer Foundation Trust who shared an interesting and informative talk about different types of cancer, awareness and how to spot signs.
