What have we been up to in January and February?

Take a look at some of the amazing things our Aspire women and volunteers have been up to in January and February!

Our Supporting Sisters Volunteers have been busy behind the scenes repainting our centre! There is no stopping our SSV even when they are not in their official support roles!

We have launched a Bra Bank in partnership with Fundraise & Recycle! If you have any old, unwanted, wrongly-sized, or spare bras in your drawer, drop them off at our Bra Bank in our Reception and they will be donated to women in need who cannot afford to purchase a bra. Aspire will be paid in partnership with Fundraise & Recycle for every kilogram of bras we receive so by donating, you will also be helping us continue to support women in our local area!

We had a lovely morning at our #TimeToTalk Day themed Breakfast Club! It was a great opportunity for our women to meet together and have a chat in a safe environment where they could be open to talk about their mental health! The delicious breakfast options were also enjoyed too!

We also had a ‘Love Yourself’ themed Breakfast Club the following week! It was a morning of putting yourself first, prioritising loving yourself and meeting together with other amazing Aspire women!

It was great to attend the Advice in County Durham information and networking event at Pelton Community Centre!

We appreciated seeing some sun and our Aspire yarden definitely appreciated it! Spring is just around the corner!

We had a wonderful morning at our Soup and Bread Workshop! Our women did an amazing job making various flavours of breads and flatbreads (some were gluten free too!) to go alongside our delicious homemade soups! It was lovely to share everything that we had made and enjoy lunch together afterwards!

We love to celebrate our amazing Aspire women! This week we celebrated our volunteer Karen’s 60th birthday with Nosecco!!!

It is always lovely to see the friendships that grow and support that our women offer each other in all of our groups!

Stay tuned for what we get up to next month!
