We spent the beginning of the month decorating and preparing the centre for one of our highlights of the year - International Women’s Day!!!
We had a wonderful morning at our International Women’s Day brunch! Our women were encouraged to bring along a dish linked to their heritage or nationality to share to celebrate our wonderfully diverse Aspire women!
We had an amazing day at Beamish Museum joining in their International Women’s Day celebrations! Thank you to all of our Aspire women, volunteers and staff who came along and joined in!
Our Yarden is looking ready for Spring!
At our Spectrum Group we celebrated Neurodiversity Celebration Week by making rainbow coloured infinity ribbons. The ribbons represent the infinite range of neurological differences and the spectrum of human minds! We also enjoyed cupcakes and a chat whilst we were making them!
Our Spectrum Group takes place every Monday 12.30-2.30pm which is a peer-led support group for neurodiverse Aspire women (diagnosis not necessary) - to register please contact: sisters@aspire-northeast.co.uk
For Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we also ran a social media campaign highlighting inspirational neurodiverse women to challenge stereotypes and prove that neurodiversity is not something to be ashamed of but rather celebrated! (take a look at our social media for more!)
We are so grateful for all of our donations of bras to fill our Bra Bank - it was overflowing this month!
If you have any old, unwanted, wrongly-sized, or spare bras in your drawer, simply drop them off at out Aspire Bra Bank and they will be donated to women in need who cannot afford to purchase a bra!
Aspire will be paid in partnership with Fundraise and Recycle for every kilogram of bras we receive so by donating your old bras, you are also helping Aspire to continue supporting women in our local area!
We had a wonderful day at the North East Combined Authority Trailblazer celebration event at the Crown Plaza in Newcastle!
Our staff had a productive day at their team development day, planning a bright future for Aspire!
We were so grateful for the generous donation of Easter Eggs for South Pelaw Residents Association! Thank you so much, Happy Easter!
