How neurodiversity can affect women’s health and financial wellbeing - An Aspire study
We are excited to announce that we have published a research article studying how neurodiversity can affect women’s health and financial wellbeing with the help and support of the Women’s Budget Group.
Alison, Val and Helen collaborated on this project after realising that there is a lack of research into autism in adults, but particularly women. We approached women from our ‘Spectrum’ group, which is an Aspire support group for neurodiverse women, to gather both qualitative and quantitative data about how neurodiversity can affect women. The intersection between gender and neurodiversity links to a compounding effect of disadvantage. From missed diagnoses to workplace barriers, our work reveals the urgent need for better support for neurodiverse women.
